A job board has a supposedly simple task: a candidate should be able to find the right job with as few clicks as possible. Candidates should have various tools at their disposal to do this. For example, an intelligent search, a location proximity search or relevant filters with intelligent features such as multiple choice, searchability or display of hits per option. Other features such as a watch list or a job newsletter subscription are just as helpful.
This probably sounds obvious, but it is not. Many job boards, which in most cases are made available from the applicant management system, have little or none of the functions mentioned. They are not a pleasure to use and it is very difficult to find the right job. Mobile optimisation or accessibility are rather foreign words.
